Role:
The successful candidate shall have the following responsibilities, among others:
- Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground controls as per the site requirements.
- Accurately drill the required number of patterns using mechanized electric hydraulic jumbo drill suitable for ground conditions.
- Use the appropriate mining equipment to drill holes to design lines, gradient and profile.
- Optimize drill patterns to ensure that maximum advance per round is achieved whiles maintaining strict adherence to design specifications with minimal over break.
- Ensure that all statutory requirements associated with mining operation are completed in compliance with the Mining Act and related regulations of the Republic of Ghana.
- Ensure that the working area is safe for personnel and equipment to perform duties.
- Prepare reports and complete all relevant documentations at the end of the shift.
- Perform any other duty that will be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification Required & Experience:
- Applicants should have a minimum of;
- MSLC/BECE qualification with at least 8 years’ underground work experience.
- Must have a;
- Ghanaian Blasting Certificate of competency issued by the Mine Inspectorate.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Ghanaian or International Driver’s License CE
- Statutory License (Equipment Certification)
Knowledge Skills and Ability:
- Ability to read and interpret ground design support plans.
- Ability to apply discretion and judgement within established guidelines, rules and procedures.
- Must be conversant with industrial safety, health and environmental issues.
- Must be able to meet operational deadlines and targets.
- Must be able to communicate meaningfully in English language (Oral and Written)
