KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Develop a checklist for monitoring to ensure compliance with the ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 specifications, EPA guidelines and Mining Regulations.
- Develop/implement the best disposal method for various streams of waste (solid, liquid & gaseous emissions) from the mining activities and operations.
- Identify and develop Environmental Aspects and Impact Assessments and recommend mitigative measures.
- Assist in incident reporting, and investigation and recommend remedial actions for implementation.
- Enforce contractor management programmes and ensure compliance.
- Undertake a risk assessment of workplace activities to prevent potential incidents.
- Enforce provisions in the Minerals and Mining Regulations L.I. 2182 & L.I. 2177
- Good in emergency response protocols in the mining industry and ability to develop and implement appropriate mitigative response procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- HSE Senior Officer’s Certificate of Competency from Minerals Commission
- Lead Environmental Auditor ISO 14001
- Lead Auditor IRCA Certified ISO 45001
- Knowledge in the Mining Regulation LI2182
- Knowledge of Waste Management Practice
- A Level 6 International Diploma in Environmental/Safety Engineering
- International General Certificate in NEBOSH OHS
- Lead Investigator, Environmental ISO 14001 / OSHA Workplace Health & Safety Incident
- Accredited Environmental Tutor/ NEBOSH Tutor
- 5 years working experience in a similar position in Mining, particularly in underground mine operations.
